Our beginnings as a church go back to a vacation Bible school conducted in a tent on the northeast corner of McElroy Road and State Route 430 East, in June 1943. This led to a Sunday School and church beginning in the Beer School House in August of 1943. In 1944, ground was broken for the basement, and this was made ready for services by July 1944. This basement church continued until 1952 when ground was again broken for more basement room and an upper church structure.
Celebrating 75 years in 2018, Ridgeway First Church of God has been the “lighthouse on a hill” to the people of the Madison area. May the same light of God’s love continue to shine through each of us as we continue to Love God and Love People for many more years!
